Meade High School houses a preschool that is part of the child development program.  This laboratory setting is designed to provided child development students with the opportunity to plan and prepare lessons suitable for young children.  It also provides the student with the chance to observe and participate with children as they improve their understanding of child growth and development.  Enrollment is open to any child that is four years old in the Meade community.

Additional guidelines are as follows:

1. The preschool curriculum is designed for children who are three and one/half and four years old. Children must be toilet trained.  Also, we try to enroll an equal number of boys and girls who represent the rich multi-cultural diversity of the school community.

2. Since many different teenagers will be alternately teaching the children along with the child development teacher, our program is designed for children who can cope with daily changes and flexible scheduling.

3. Children are expected to attend the entire preschool session.

4. Parents must provide reliable and consistent transportation.

5. Your child's doctor must complete a Maryland Immunization Certificate and Health Inventory.

6. The date that you apply to the preschool program will be noted.  Early applicants will be given a higher preference.

7. To cover part of the cost of snacks and supplies, parents are requested to contribute $20.00 per semester.  Checks made payable to Meade High School are due at the parent and child orientation meeting.

8. All parents/guardians or an adult representative are required to attend an orientation to the preschool program.
