The World and Classical Languages Department believes that cultural awareness is an integral part of preparing students to be effective communicators. Meade High School offers Spanish, French, American Sign Language, ELL (English as a Second Language), and Chinese. Classroom instruction is conducted in the target language and focuses on the four components of second language acquisition: reading, writing, speaking and listening.
