____  Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation

  • Parent must be active duty/reserve, Honorable or Medical discharge, or killed while serving in the US Marine Corps
  • Minimum GPA 2.0
  • DEADLINE Thursday, March 1, 2007

____  National Association of Hispanic Journalist

  • Various awards ranging from $1,000 up to $5,000
  • Open to students of Hispanic descent
  • Scholarships for students majoring in print, online, or broadcast journalism
  • DEADLINE Thursday, March 1, 2007

___    Society of Women Engineers, Baltimore-Washington Chapter

  • Open to females only
  • Minimum GPA 3.0
  • Deadline March 1,  2007

____  Guaranteed Access Grant

  • Must be a Maryland Resident
  • Minimum GPA 2.5
  • Must enroll in school  full-time
  • Must meet annual income requirements
  • Students that qualify for free/reduce lunch are strongly encourage to apply if criteria is met.
  • DEADLINE March, 1, 2007

____  Foster Care Tuition Waiver

  • Student must be in a foster care home at the time of graduation OR  resided in a Maryland foster care home ON their 14th birthday and then adopted
  • Student must attend a Maryland state public college or university
  • Fill out the Federal Student Aid Form (FAFSA) by March 1, 2007

____  AGI Minority Geosciences Scholarship

  • Must be a US citizen
  • Open to African-American, Hispanic, and Native American students
  • Students majoring in geosciences (including sub disciplines of geology), geophysics, geochemistry, hydrology, meteorology, physical oceanography, planetary geology, or earth-science education
  • DEADLINE March 1, 2007

___    American Legion Auxiliary National President’s Scholarship

  • Parent must have been a member of the Armed Forces having served in various “conflicts” overseas
  • Student must have completed at least 50 hours of community service
  • DEADLINE Thursday, March 1, 2007

____  SAMMY 2007 Award (Student Athletes)

  • $7,500 Award
  • Criteria is based on academic performance, athletic excellence, leadership, community service, and milk experience

  • Open to children of Active Duty or Retired Air Force members

  • Students interested in a career in education

  • Students interested in Auto Technology, Barbering, Broadcasting, Cosmetology, Dental and Medical Assisting, Electronic Systems, Heating and Air Conditioning, Massage Therapy, and Make-up Artistry should apply

___    National Association of Women Business Owners

  • Must be a female student graduating in 2007
  • Must have taken the SAT
  • Demonstrated the “Entrepreneurial Spirit” by currently having or had in the past a business or project that was of business mind
